An organisation's Intellectual Property comprises its

  • Explicit IP, that has been identified and validly claimed so that the organisation can enjoy the benefits of owning it
  • Latent IP, that the organisation has yet to make explicit. Latent IP may be written down but not recognised as IP; or it may be unwritten. AcuteIP is expert at finding your latent IP and making it into explicit IP.

For a company, some explicit IP can be given fair value and included on the Balance sheet, improving the company's capital value and through that, its share value and its credit rating, giving it better trade terms and interest rates.

All organisations including Not for Profit can create Intellectual Property, which helps them fulfil their goals.
